California Nomads supports
Orange County Rescue Mission
at Christmastime
California Nomads members celebrated Christmas on December 4th, with a delicious potluck dinner at Gazzy’s Garage. Our tree was supplied by Terry and Dawn Williams and decorated at our December 2nd meeting with ornaments and lights donated by members. The Garage looked great with table centerpieces from Suzanne Dudley and Cristina Dudley, and so much food we barely had room for all of it.
California Nomads has a long history of supporting charitable causes. Since 1972 we have supported organizations such as Meals on Wheels, Ronald McDonald House, Wounded Warriors, Long Beach Police Canine Association, Susan G Komen Breast Cancer Research, and various local car clubs in support of their causes.
At our November meeting, we voted to forego a gift exchange, and instead purchase toys to donate to the children at Orange County Rescue Mission in Tustin, CA. We also chose to donate $500.00 to the Rescue Mission as our yearly charitable gift.
Many toys were collected and VP Gordon Dudley and club member Dan Chidester packed the toys into their Nomads and made the toy delivery to the Mission on December 9th. The toys and money were graciously accepted by a representative of the Mission. The Rescue Mission supports families, men, women, and veterans, and accepts donations of clothing and other articles at the Tustin location.
